Marvel’s Avengers Videogame May Include Stan Lee Cameo

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics riled up the Marvel fanbase today when the studios decided to unveil its highly rumored Marvel's Avengers videogame during this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

While the studios didn't give away too much about the game outside its premise and keyplayers like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and the Hulk, E3's been in full swing and there have been panels featuring all sorts of creators.

Speaking in a question and answer segment with GameSpot, Bill Roseman, creative director of Marvel Games, decided to address a few topics regarding Marvel's Avengers. This includes the question of whether or not fans can expect a cameo from the recently diseased Marvel comic book legend, Stan Lee.

During the interview with the publication, Roseman was asked if Lee had the chance to work on a cameo for Marvel Games' upcoming videogame with Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics. If Stan the Man could appear in Marvel's Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4, then why not Marvel's Avengers, right?

"Well, we can't talk about that right now," Roseman answered. The response is short, but fans can't help but wonder whether or not we'll really be getting a cameo in the new game. Hopefully, Square Enix and Marvel Games will decide to spill as soon as the game approaches its release date.

Here's the description of Marvel's Avengers:

"Marvel's Avengersbegins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source," reads an official description. "The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth's Mightiest Heroes."

Marvel's Avengers is scheduled to arrive on May 15, 2020 on PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
