Marvel Studios Having Trouble Bringing Deadpool Into The MCU

Disney's may have long since acquired 21st Century Fox and the studio's various film and television assets, but it looks like the Mickey Mouse House is struggling to bring Fox's Deadpool film franchise into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to a report by Variety, Disney is still trying to figure out the best way to bring Ryan Reynold's Merc with a Mouth into the MCU. It's quite a struggle because of the House of Mouse has to figure out a way to keep the brassy, R-rated film franchise just the way it is while having the character crossover into the PG-13 realm of Marvel Studios' different movies. After all, Disney CEO Bob Iger did promise that Deadpool would be able to continue on as is.

Of course, Disney could tone down the Merc with a Mouth, but that would take away what makes Deadpool so unique as a superhero – his brassy and vulgar nature. Even Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige wanted nothing changed, suggesting that Ryan Reynolds should keep his character as is in the wake of Disney's acquisition of Fox.

Still, the studio may have to rethink its plans for Deadpool though, especially since Disney's had a $170 million operating loss thanks to 21st Century Fox's assets – something the studio blamed on the underperforming X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

We're hoping that the studio finds an appropriate solution to this dilemma.

Deadpool 2 is available for purchase on 4k Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD.
