Marvel Rumors Say Henry Cavill And The Rock Are Being Considered For The MCU

It looks like there are rumors circulating online saying that DC Extended Universe Man of Steel star Henry Cavill and Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson may be making their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to a report by Gem Mint Collectibles, there are rumors saying that Marvel is eyeing big-name stars Cavill and Johnson for various roles in the MCU. These rumors suggest that DC's Son of Krypton is being considered by Marvel for a role as US Agent, an ex-Hydra agent that turns against the Red Skull in a rumored Secret Wars movie.

They also suggest that The Rock is being considered for the role of Namor, Marvel's version of Aquaman. The son of a human sea captain and a princess of the mythical kingdom of Atlantis, Namor is reportedly being set up to play a villain in Marvel's Black Panther sequel.

According to the report, Johnson is already in deep talks with Kevin Feige for the part.

Of course, as interesting as these rumors might sound, we advise fans to take everything with a grain of salt. It's hard to believe that Marvel will give Cavill a place in the MCU knowing that he's still in the DCEU. Johnson's rumors seem a bit more believable, though we've got to take that tidbit with a grain of salt as well. We can't trust every rumor that runs up and down the mill online.

Marvel is set to begin Phase 4 of the MCU when it releases Black Widow on May 1, 2020.
