Marvel Releases Brand New Synopsis for Black Widow

It looks like Marvel finally has a brand new synopsis for Scarlett Johansson's highly anticipated Black Widow standalone movie.

Earlier today, Marvel dropped a brand new trailer for Black Widow, stunning fans with brand new footage of Natasha Romanoff working together with her sister Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), her sister Melina (Rachel Weisz), as well as the loveable Red Guardian (David Harbour). The trailer also sees Natasha coming face to face with the main villain of the movie, Taskmaster.

Now, with a brand new trailer to add to the hype, the studio has a brand new synopsis for the movie (via ComicBook.com), providing additional story details to the film that examines Black Widow's life on the run after the events of Captain America: Civil War.

"In Marvel Studios' action-packed spy thriller "Black Widow," Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger. Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina. Directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige, "Black Widow"—the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe—hits U.S. theaters on May 1, 2020."

Thanks to the synopsis, fans get to learn why Natasha must return home to her family after Civil War. We can only wonder whether the Avenger gets to mend the "broken" relationships that she left behind in the Soviet Union and whether we'll get to see more of Yelena, Melina, and Alexie in the future after Black Widow.

One thing's for sure though – everyone's excited to see Black Widow on the big screen again after the sacrifice that she made in Avengers: Endgame.

Black Widow is going to kick off Phase 4 of the MCU when it premieres on May 1, 2020.
