Marvel On Whether Or Not Carol Danvers Will Come Out As Part Of The LGBTQ

Marvel's been promising to take more steps towards representation and diversity in the films that it makes as the Marvel Cinematic Universe moves on to the fourth phase of the franchise. Knowing that Marvel promises to include more women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ, fans have been wondering whether the studio would show Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) in a same-sex relationship sometime in the future.

Speaking with fans in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session, Marvel executive producer Victoria Alonso addresses fans hopes of seeing Carol Danvers as a member of the LGBTQ. A Marvel fan on Reddit asked Alonso whether or not "Carol could eventually have a love story with someone of the same sex. I think it would be something incredible on the part of the MCU."

"Hello, my dear Argentina! We do not know what the future will give us," Alonso wrote in her response, "I thank you very much for your support and that you like our stories. The character of Carol will have to show us who she wants when she returns with her adventures. :)"

Marvel probably doesn't want to give away too much information just yet. Word on the street has it that Marvel plans to make announcements about the future of the MCU after Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Of course, it isn't impossible for Captain Marvel to have a same-sex relationship. Captain Marvel didn't really address Carol Danvers' sexuality. Maybe we'd get to see Captain Marvel in a relationship in a future Marvel movie.

Marvel's latest release, Avengers: Endgame, is currently screening in cinemas.
