Marvel is Actually Taking Major Marketing Cues From Star Wars

Star Wars fans were met with surprising news last year when Lucasfilm announced that Kevin Feige would be developing a brand new movie for the Star Wars franchise. No one was really expecting the Marvel Studios President to produce a Star Wars film at all with Marvel moving on from Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame to Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While most fans are excited to see Feige bring his expertise to Lucasfilm, Screen Rant suggests that Marvel is actually benefitting from Star Wars successes and its failures. According to the entertainment news outlet, Marvel is taking cues from Lucasfilm in building the franchise.

Disney just recently released a program called "Expanding the Universe" on Disney+, and it seems like Marvel has been following Star Wars' marketing approaching with tie-in novels that are given names like the Road to Avengers: Endgame.

Feige is only going to learn more from Star Wars transmedia universe as he goes on to produce for the galaxy far, far away. After all, Star Wars has been one of the producer's biggest passions.

Speaking in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter,Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo opened up about Feige taking on a Star Wars project for Lucasfilm.

"Star Wars is Kevin's first and true love," Russo told the entertainment news outlet, "He's a man who has a very, very large basement filled with enough Star Wars paraphernalia to fill a museum. Whatever he does with it is going to be passionate, emotional, and unique."

In his discussion with THR, Russo mentioned the power of social media, hinting that Feige may take advantage of social media in creating his own movie for Star Wars – something that Marvel has been doing for years in the MCU.
