Marvel Gives Avengers: Endgame’s Fat Thor An Official Name

Marvel's Asgardian God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) has always been a fan-favorite hero, but it seems like the character's popularity spiked in Avengers: Endgame when Thor decided to let himself go in the wake of all his loses and failings.

It might have been heartbreaking to see Thor lose his brother and his people in Avengers: Infinity War, but in Endgame it was endearing to see the Asgardian deal with his heartache by doing what humans usually do – drown their sorrows in beer, pizza, and videogames. Thor gained some serious weight in Endgame, so much so that fans started calling him Fat Thor.

Now, Marvel has decided to give this robust version of the Avenger an official name. The special features list for Endgame has started making the rounds online (via Comicbook.com), and there we get to see Fat Thor being named Bro Thor instead.

Going by the title "Bro Thor," the Avengers: Endgame featurette focuses on the making of the newest version of the Asgardian God of Thunder.

"His appearance has changed but his heroism remains! Go behind the scenes to see how Bro Thor was created," the featurette reads.

It's definitely going to be interesting to see how Bro Thor was developed when Endgame gets its home release. Fans are also interested in seeing Thor's new look as Marvel moves on to Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Endgame showed Thor joining the Guardians of the Galaxy, so fans are hoping to see the Asguardian appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Let's wait and see whether he really does.

Avengers: Endgame is set for a rerelease with extra footage on June 28, 2019.
