Marvel Fans Unimpressed and Disappointed by Marvel’s Avengers Gameplay Footage

Marvel's Avengers might be the next big Marvel video game, but it seems like fans aren't too excited for the Crystal Dynamic's upcoming narrative-based, action-adventure Avengers videogame after seeing the gameplay trailer for the project.

Square Enix held a War Table event today to showcase new gameplay footage for Marvel's Avengers, and while the videogame publisher might have been hoping that the video would help amp up the excitement for the new Marvel title, it seems like it's done the exact opposite for Marvel gamers.

Posting on social media, fans expressed their concerns about Marvel's Avengers. While most of the posts seem to express appreciation over the game's graphics, there are a few harsh criticisms over the gameplay.

According to Marvel fans, the gameplay for Marvel's Avengers seems rough and controls don't seem that enjoyable. It didn't help that the gameplay footage simply showcased the player "going in circles killing the same kind of robots over and over again as Thor."

We understand the disappoint fans would have over the gameplay footage. Everyone was so hyped over the graphics presented in Marvel's Avengers cinematic trailer. Square Enix could have done better by presenting exciting gameplay footage instead of featuring a tedious kill cycle. Now, fans are expressing disappointment and doubt over whether or not they'll be pre-ordering the new Marvel videogame.

Let's hope that Square Enix can ramp up its marketing game in the weeks leading up to the release of Marvel's Avengers.

Marvel's Avengers is set to release on Stadia, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on September 4, 2020.
