There’s been a lot of excitement building up over Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers game the past few days. The game is a product of studios like Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montreal, Crystal Northwest, Nixxes Software, Marvel Games, and of course, Square Enix.

The videogame publisher took the wraps off Marvel’s Avengers during this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), releasing a cinematic trailer for the game. The basic premise shows the Avengers becoming a hated organization after one of the team’s attempts at rescuing the world goes wrong, resulting in many, many casualties.

The playable characters in the game include five key members of the Avengers. Captain America who is to be voiced by Jeff Schine, Iron Man who is to be voiced by Nolan North, Hulk who is to be voiced by Troy Baker, Thor who is to be voiced by Travis Willingham, and Black Widow to be voiced by Laura Bailey.

Taking to Twitter, fans have been expressing excitement over the game. Some are posting messages saying that they want Marvel’s Avengers now, some say that the game looks perfect. Others are excited for the game’s free DLC.

It certainly looks like Square Enix’s trailer wowed the fanbase, because everyone’s gushing about Marvel’s Avengers online.

Here’s the official description of the game:

"Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source," reads an official description. "The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes."

Marvel’s Avengers is set to arrive on May 15, 2020 on PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, and Xbox One.
