Marvel Fans Are Going Crazy Over Kate Bishop’s Role In Marvel’s New Hawkeye Series

For the past few years, Marvel fans have been wondering whether Kate Bishop might ever make her way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Marvel has been busy with its current iteration of the Avengers, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has long since teased Bishop's future in the franchise.

Now, word has it that Marvel Entertainment is working with Disney to launch a new TV series about Hawkeye on the Mickey Mouse House's upcoming streaming site, and it looks like the show might feature Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) together with Kate Bishop.

Yesterday, Variety reported that Disney+ was beginning development on a Marvel TV show centered around Hawkeye. While the series is going to focus on fans favorite Marvel sharpshooter, the report also revealed that Clint Barton would be joined by Kate Bishop, the third character and first female to take over the Hawkeye mantle. Marvel fans are going crazy over Bishop's introduction, taking to social media to express their excitement.

Check out some of the tweets down here:

For those who aren't familiar with the character, Kate is a member of the Young Avengers, a "normal" civilian who exudes independent, tough-minded, and blunt characteristics. Like the MCU's Hawkeye, Kate is an excellent sharpshooter, the result of what appears to be intense combat training after what appears to be an attack in Central Park.

Right now we're not quite sure how exactly Marvel might navigate Kate's introduction, however, we assume that Clint Barton himself will eventually train Kate in the upcoming Disney+ live action series. This is definitely going to be interesting to see, especially after Hawkeye's bad boy phase in Avengers: Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
