Marvel Comics Reveals What Nick Fury Was Up To Right Before Avengers: Infinity War

After popping up in the post-credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War to send Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) a distress signal right before he found himself being torn to dust like the rest of the unlucky living half of the universe, fans have been wondering what exactly has Nicky Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) been up to before the Russo Brother's two-part Avengers movie.

Thanks to the latest issue of Marvel's Captain Marvel Prelude#1, fans finally get an answer. In the new Captain Marvel comic by Will Corona Pilgrim and by Andrea Di Viti (via CBR), the spotlight is put on both Fury and Maria Hill (Colbie Smulders) and the time they spent right before Thanos snaps his fingers and turns half the world into dust.

According to the comic, unlike the popular belief, Fury didn't completely go underground. Instead, the former SHIELD head decided to keep in contact with the Secret Avengers, the new team that Captain America (Chris Evans) formed together with Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson) and Falcon (Anthony Mackie).

However, in the latest issue of Prelude #1, Fury isn't trying to pay a visit to the Secret Avengers during the events of Infinity War – no. Instead, he was there trying to help Captain America mend fences together with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.)

The same case was made of Iron Man with Hill explaining that "The world needs the Avengers – the full roster."

Now, with the original six left alive, Iron Man and the rest of the Avengers are going to have to try their best to bring back the half of the universe that Thanos turned into dust.

Avengers 4 hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
