Mark Hamill Tells Parents When to Get Their Children to See Star Wars Holiday Special

Star Wars legend Mark Hamill might have just recently quit Facebook to protest the company's political ad policies, but that hasn't stopped the hero of the Star Wars franchise from interacting with fans. Hamill's always been pretty active on social media, and while the actor just recently decided to delete his account on Facebook, the celebrity continues to give out fun stories and tidbits about Star Wars on Twitter, responding to fans and answering all of their questions.

Just today, Hamill was asked by a fan about the Star Wars Holiday special, the infamous 1978 television special directed by Steve Binder.

This fan told Hamiill about a story where a father and son discussed Star Wars and the project that the parent liked the least. According to the fan, his direct answer was the Star Wars Christmas Special, something that resulted in a confused look from the son.

In the tweet, this fan asked the Star Wars legend whether or not he should let his son watch the infamous Star Wars Christmas Special. According to Hamill, the fan should let his son see the Star Wars spinoff "only as punishment" for the boy.

The television special was the very first Star Wars spinoff in the franchise, and it was set between the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

The Star Wars special is notoriously known for fans and critics extreme negative reception to the spinoff with many calling it one of the biggest embarrassments of the Star Wars franchise.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently screening in cinemas.
