Mark Hamill Celebrates Batman: The Animated Series 27th Anniversary

Mark Hamill might have already made a name for himself as a Star Wars legend, but the actor's also pretty well known as a DC voice actor too, most prominently known for his voice role as the Joker.

Celebrating the 27th anniversary of the Batman: The Animated Series, Hamill decided to take to Twitter to reminisce how he ended up with one of the most rewarding and enduring roles that he's played in his career as an actor.

"I went to Broadway in search of challenging character roles, only to find one of the most rewarding & enduring of them all- in this series. Without #BatmanTheAnimatedSeries, my career would have no punchline... #HappyAnniversaryBATSY Mad❤️from The?," the Star Wars legend wrote on his retweet of the post from Batman: The Animated Series which celebrates the show's premiere on September 5, 1992.

It's been so long since Hamill's entrance in the Batman: The Animated Series. Hamill's version of the Joker's voice has become so iconic since then. In addition to his role as the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, the Star Wars legend has also voiced the clown prince of crime in shows, movies, and games like Mask of the Phantasm, Superman: The Animated Series, New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Birds of Prey, Robot Chicken, Justice League Unlimited, Arkham City, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Arkham Knight.

It's so hard to imagine an animated version of the Joker without thinking of Hamill's laughter and his voice. We hope that Hamill's voice acting legacy continues.

Speaking of Joker, DC's highly anticipated live-action Joker movie premieres on October 4, 2019.
