Major Star Wars: Episode IX Detail Revealed

It might be a disappointing December without a single Star Wars movie trailer, however, while Lucasfilm continues to hold Star Wars: Episode IX's secrets close to its chest, rumors, and leaks continue to circulate online. One of the most recent reports allegedly reveals a very important detail about the upcoming Star Wars installment – the length of the time jump between The Last Jedi and Episode IX.

It might not be the actual title for Episode IX, but according to Empire Magazine (via Discussing Film), the third and final film in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy is going to take place one year after the events after The Last Jedi. This information might not be as big as the actual title of Episode IX, but it also says a lot.

A year isn't as far off as some might expect – rumors from earlier this year suggested that the time jump would be much longer than expected, giving Rey (Daisy Ridley) enough time to birth a child and Finn (John Boyega) to grow a full beard.

Of course, a lot can happen within a year, and hopefully, by that time the Resistance will find itself replenished and rejuvenated just enough to continue its fight against Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and the First Order.

Still, we don't have any actual plot for Episode IX, though there have been many theories and rumors circulating online. There have been stories about Darth Vader appearing in a cameo and there has also been talk about appearances by Darth Sidious and Plagues.

Of course, with these being rumors, fans have to take everything with a grain of salt.

Star Wars: Episode IX is set to release on December 20, 2019.
