MCU Spider-Man Movies Won’t be Available on Disney+

Marvel fans might be excited for all of the different shows that Marvel is preparing for Disney+, however, despite all of the Mickey Mouse House's offerings on the site, the studio doesn't really plan on adding the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man movies even after the platform's launch today.

Disney just recently held a media day for Disney+, and during the journalist gather, the platform's head of content and marketing Rick Straus told The Verge that the group currently has no plans bringing in the Spider-Man movies into the site. Not only does this include the Spider-Man Sony movies, but it also includes Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

According to Strauss, there's going to be a lot of Spider-Man movies in the service platform, mostly in animated movies and series.

"We love our friends at Sony, but we don't have any plans to have the live-action Spider-Man movies on Disney+," Strauss said. "We will have all the Spider-Man animated shows that we did so they'll be on there under the Marvel banner. But who knows what can happen in the future?"

This might sound a whole lot disappointing to fans. Everyone loves Marvel's Spider-Man movies. In fact, it was fans insistence that helped Disney come to an agreement with Sony on letting Tom Holland's wall crawler stay in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for another two years.

Still, while fans won't be able to see Far From Home and Homecoming on Disney+, there's still a lot of great content to enjoy on the site like the upcoming series Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, and Hawkeye.

Disney+ is launching today, November 12, 2019.
