Lucasfilm Reportedly Developing New Star Wars Animated Series with Bad Batch

Star Wars fans might have gotten lucky seeing the seventh season of the critically-acclaimed Star Wars series Star Wars: The Clone Wars finally make its way to television, however, now that Lucasfilm has completed the show, word on the mill says that the studio is working on a new animated spinoff series.

According to a report by Kessel Run Transmissions (via Noah Outlaw), Lucasfilm is planning to develop a brand new Star Wars animated series, this time one that features the Bad Batch clones as its lead characters. The show is reportedly going to take place after "The Siege of Mandalore" and will feature all five Bad Batch clones including Echo, Hunter, Tech, Crosshair, and Wrecker.

Ahsoka, Captain Rex, and Commander Wolffe are all supposed to appear in the series as well, however, as supporting roles in the series.

"Certain characters in this series were recently introduced to in the seventh season of The Clone Wars," Outlaw writes in the thread.

As interesting as this new report might be, we advise fans to take the news with a major grain of salt. Lucasfilm has yet to announce a new Star Wars series, and if it were to announce one now, we imagine that it would be set in a time and setting far away from The Clone Wars. After all, the studio is trying to explore a time and place that would be new for Star Wars fans.
