Lucasfilm Releases Exciting First-Look Images for Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge

Lucasfilm may not be releasing any Star Wars film this year, but that doesn't mean that the studio is going to leave Star Wars fans high and dry this year. Not only is Lucasfilm preparing the second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian for release on Disney+, but the studio has also been collaborating with ILMxLAB to produce Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, a VR videogame experience that will that's set to explore events between Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Lucasfilm just recently released new details about the videogame today, dropping a brand new release video giving fans a look into Tales from the Galaxy's Edge cast and story. According to Alyssa Finley, Tales from the Galaxy's Edge Senior Producer, the game "starts out in absolutely classic Star Wars style." Gamers join the game as a droid repair technician aboard a cargo ship. Thanks to a pirate attack, the ship crash lands on Batuu.

"You got some stuff to do that leads to a conflict, and now the Guavian Death Gang is after you. Sorry about that," Finley goes on to explain.

ILMxLAB offers fans the ability to fully immerse themselves into a new Star Wars realm, giving fans something to look forward to this year.

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge is set to launch later this year on Oculus Quest.
