Justice League Star Ray Fisher Stakes His Name As The MCU’s New Blade

Marvel might be moving towards the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe now that Avengers: Endgame's finally premiered, but fans are still looking back at the franchise's past, hoping that Wesley Snipes returns as the Vampire Killer, Blade. Snipes himself wants to return to the role, but it looks like he isn't the only one interested in becoming Marvel's new Blade.

Justice League star Ray Fisher also wants to take a shot at becoming the MCU's iconic Vampire Hunter. Speaking with fans at the 2019 Celebrity Fan Fest in San Antonio, Texas last weekend, the DC Extended Universe actor was asked what kind of role he'd want if he'd be able to star in the MCU. Fisher's answer? Blade.

It shouldn't come as a surprise. Blade's a well-loved hero, and there's been a rising call to see the iconic vampire hunter return to the big screen. It's been a while since Blade's appeared in cinemas. The last time we've seen him was in the Blade Trinity at Fox in 2004.

Marvel's long since reacquired the rights to Blade, and word on the street says that Marvel is developing a new Blade series for Hulu. While fans would probably want to see Snipes return to the role ( and the actor is interested in returning too), we're fairly certain Marvel would want to try casting someone else for the part.

Maybe Fisher could get a shot at becoming the new Blade. Who knows. We'll have to wait and see.

Marvel's latest release, Avengers: Endgame, is currently screening in cinemas.
