Joss Whedon Believes Henry Cavill’s Superman Could Be Much Better Than Christopher Reeve's

Henry Cavill's future in the DC Extended Universe might be up in the air as Warner Brothers busy itself with other DC projects like Shazam! and Wonder Woman 2, but that doesn't mean that the actor isn't a well-loved superman. Though the DCEU might have stumbled with entries like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, fans continue to praise Cavill's performance as DC's Man of Steel.

Avengers and Justice League director Joss Whedon also has a lot of love for Cavill's version of Sups, taking to Twitter to share his thoughts on the actor's version of the character.

Not only does Whedon say that Cavill is the best Superman since Christopher Reeve, but he also claims that the actor could be much better than the legendary Superman star as long as he works with "the right material."

Check out the filmmaker's post down here:

While Reeves's Superman continues to be a beloved favorite for many DC fans, Cavill does exceptionally well in the suit too. Not only does he look great as Supes, but he has the charisma for the role too.

Of course, one of Warner Brother's strongest points in the DCEU has been its casting. Despite its earlier entry's failings, the DCEU managed to make fans fall in love with Cavill, Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), and Ray Fisher (Cyborg).

The only problem is the material the actors have to work with. That and WB's tendency to meddle with its DCEU film productions.

DC's next film, Shazam! is set for release on April 5, 2019.
