Joker Producer Also Doesn’t Like Comic Book Movies

Emma Tillinger Koskoff might be producing Todd Phillipp's Joker movie, but it seems like isn't quite a big fan of the comic book genre.

Koskoff recently went on an interview with AP News to help promote Warner Brother's highly anticipated DC entry, and during her discussion with the news publication, the producer admitted that she doesn't really like comic book movies even if she's working on the Joker.

"It's not my preferred genre, the comic book genre," Koskoff told the news outlet, "I literally can't watch those movies. I try but I can't. I should but I can't. But I love this movie. Even if I didn't work on this movie I would love this movie."

Of course, Joker has been described to be a film that breaks ground in the comic book film genre, so it shouldn't be a shock to see that Koskoff is working on the project.

Koskoff isn't the only one in the Joker movie who has reservations about the comic book film genre.

Joker star and comedian Marc Maron has been the center of attention as of late, batting away criticism from Marvel fans after he going on a little tirade saying that he doesn't really enjoy comic book movies and films from the MCU because he thinks that they're for "grown, male nerd childs."

Still, Joker is being built up as a project bigger than the comic book genre. The film has been described as a gritty character study of the Clown Prince of Crime, one that is expected to become a major contender at the awards circuit this year.

Joker premieres on October 4, 2019.
