Jeremy Renner might have a pretty successful acting career, but it looks like the Marvel star has a whole lot of problems at home. The Avengers: Endgame actor's ex-wife just recently filed new legal documents revealing that Renner had once threatened to kill her, later on shoving a gun down his mouth and then threatening to kill himself as well.
According to TMZ, Renner and his ex-wife, Sonni, are currently in the middle of a battle for custody of their 6-year-old daughter, Ava. Now, Sonni is asking the judge to change the joint custody order to sole custody with monitored visitation from Renner. The ex-wife has legal documents claiming that the actor had once threatened to kill her as well as himself.
These claims say that Renner was at a club-high on coke and booze last November when he began saying that he wanted to kill Sonni, telling someone that he just "could not deal with her anymore, and he just wanted her gone."
The entertainment news outlet managed to obtain a copy of the legal documents, and according to the papers, Renner put the gun in his mouth, threatening to kill himself. The actor then reportedly fired the gun into the ceiling while his daughter, Ava, was asleep in her bedroom.
Renner's personal life is his own, however, this case has shed a few alarming allegations to light. The actor's ex-wife claims that Renner has had a history of abusing substances and a history of verbal and emotional abuse against her. The documents presented say that Renner has been repeatedly under the influence whenever he's been in custody of Ava, once leaving coke on a bathroom counter which could have been reached by the child.
Renner's representative says that the matter is for the court to decide, saying that the public should note that Sonni's declaration is a "one-sided account with a specific goal in mind."
