James Gunn On Which Guardian Of The Galaxy Deserves A Solo Movie

Marvel fans fell in love with the Guardians ever since James Gunn introduced the space misfits in the very first Guardians of the Galaxy movie in 2014. Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Drax (David Bautista) made for an odd but loveable bunch.

Though it might take a while for Gunn to begin work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 now that the director's busy working on DC's The Suicide Squad, fans can't help but ask the filmmaker questions about the cosmic superheroes on social media.

Taking to Instagram for a question and answer session with his fans, Gunn decided to respond to a question asking which of the Guardians ought to have their own solo movie after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Though each of the core members of the Guardians has had some pretty great character development over the time that they've spent in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Gunn feels like one Guardian deserves his own time in the spotlight more than the others.

Posting his answer on his Instagram stories (via ComicBook.com), Gunn revealed that Drax the Destroyer would be the best choice for a Guardians solo spinoff movie.

It's pretty easy to see why. Drax is a fun character that still has ways to go when it comes to metaphors. It'd be interesting seeing Drax head on different missions in his own standalone movie.

Of course, some fans might feel differently, thinking that Rocket, or Groot, or Mantis (Pom Klementieff) deserve the standalone more than Drax.
