James Gunn On His Future After Suicide Squad And GOTG 3

James Gunn's begun working on Suicide Squad and as excited as fans are to see his new movie for the DC Extended Universe, everyone's also eager to see his third and final movie for the Guardians of the Galaxy film franchise.

But what's Gunn going to do after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Will the filmmaker stay on and work on other films for Marvel, or is he going to direct films for DC and for Warner Brothers?

Gunn decided to address the question on his Instagram page, and as much as DC and Marvel fans would want the filmmaker on the side, it seems like the director hasn't really decided what kind of project he's going to work on next after completing The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

"I haven't decided what I'm going to do after Vol. 3," Gunn wrote on his Instagram story (via ComicBook.com) after being asked by a fan whether he was planning to direct more DC movies after The Suicide Squad.

The director probably doesn't want to jump the gun by naming a franchise that he wants to work on after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Right now, the director's putting all of his focus on his Suicide Squad movie, and it's going to take some time after that for the filmmaker to begin working on the third and final Guardians of the Galaxy entry. Marvel hasn't even named a release date for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 yet.

We'll just have to wait and see what Gunn has planned after his upcoming comic book movie projects.

The Suicide Squad premieres August 6, 2021.
