J. Jonah Jameson Reportedly Appearing In Sony’s Morbius Movie

Marvel fans might not be that surprised when they hear word that Spider-Man is being rumored to appear in Sony's Morbius movie, but now new reports say that J. Jonah Jameson is going to be featured in the Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters entry.

According to a report by Cosmic Book News, there are rumors running online saying that Whiplash star J.K. Simmons will return to his role as J.Jonah Jameson, a part that the actor took on when he appeared in the last segment of Spider-Man: Far From Home.

These reports suggest that Jameson is going to interview Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) on The Daily Bugle, a prospect that doesn't seem to farfetched given Jameson's work as a journalist. What's surprising is that Jameson is going to appear in Morbius, the second Spider-Man villain movie without any sign of Spider-Man.

There have been rumors though that Tom Holland's version of the wall-crawler is going to appear in Morbius. Previous reports have suggested that the Marvel star's version of Spider-Man is going to have a presence in the film by appearing in "Wanted" posters around the city. It might not really seem like much, but a cameo-like this confirms the connection between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Morbius.

There's also the speculation that Marvel and Sony are going to bridge the gap between the two companies by letting Peter Parker and J. Jameson appear in Morbius. Marvel may have yet to confirm this move, but let's cross our fingers and wait and see.

Morbius is set for release on July 31, 2020.
