Iron Man Is Still “Very Present” In Marvel’s Upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home

Warning: Article contains spoilers for Avengers: Endgame.

In Avengers: Endgame, fans get to see Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) making the ultimate sacrifice, using all six Infinity Stones to put an end to Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his men knowing that he would have to give up his life.

Now, many wonder what Iron Man's role in Spider-Man: Far From Home might be. Will we get to see Tony in flashbacks? Or will we have to deal with the aftermath of Tony's death?

Speaking with the press (via ComicBook.com) during a Far From Home set visit, producer Eric Carroll reveals that Peter Parker (Tom Holland) might actually have to navigate life in a world without mentor and father figure, Tony Stark. The Avenger might be dead, but according to Carroll, the hero's presence can still be very much felt in the Homecoming sequel.

"His presence is very much felt. And [Peter] still obviously references this is the suit Tony gave him," the producer said, "Tony and Happy help him out in many ways along with this movie — he's very present, he's just not in the movie."

Will this make Far From Home a heavier film than Homecoming? We're pretty sure that we're going to see some pretty heavy moments in the film, though we're also expecting a whole lot of levity in the movie. It is a Marvel film after all.

Now, without Tony Stark, we may get to see Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) take Iron Man's place as Peter Parker's mentor – something the web-slinger will need in his fight against the Elementals and against Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal).

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
