Iron Fist Rumored to Join MCU by Appearing in Shang-Chi

It's a bit hard to imagine Iron Fist making an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Netflix canceled the Iron Fist series along with all of Marvel TV's other shows like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Defenders, and The Punisher. However, new rumors are going around online saying that Danny Rand may very well find himself in the MCU thanks to Marvel's upcoming series, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

According to Comic Book Review writer Mikey Sutton (via Geekosity: All Things Pop Culture), Iron Fist could very well find his way to the MCU. Rumors are spreading that Marvel may bring Danny Rand to the big screen by incorporating him in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – something which shouldn't surprise fans considering how closely tied Iron Fist is to Shang-Chi.

While this might seem like exciting news, the report does have its drawbacks. According to Sutton, Marvel plans on recasting the character as well as tweaking the hero's origin story. This means that Marvel fans shouldn't expect to see Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones as Marvel's new Iron Fist even though he played the character for Netflix.

It might be disappointing to see Jones being unable to make it to the MCU, however, the actor is still under contract with Netflix. According to one of the site's clauses, the characters featured in Marvel TV's many series aren't allowed to appear in other sites. At least not until two years after the show's cancellation.
