The Matrix 4 is coming along nicely Last week, word came out that Aquaman alum Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris would be joining the new Matrix movie by Lana Wachowski. Now, it looks like the production is recruiting Marvel TV actress Jessica Henwick.

According to a new report by Deadline, Iron Fist’s Colleen Wing star Jessica Henwick is in the middle of negotiations to join The Matrix 4. Apparently, the Marvel TV actress won her role in the highly anticipated Matrix movie after auditioning for the part, and now, she’s in the middle of negotiating with the studio.

Henwick’s role is still a mystery, though the report does indicate that the actress is going to have a substantive role in the movie, promising fans that she’s going to be “at the forefront” of the upcoming movie. This is going to be great for the actress’ fans. Henwick has appeared in a number of major series, including Iron Fist, The Defenders, and Game of Thrones.

Right now the plot of The Matrix 4 is being kept a secret from fans. However, reports saying that Wachowski plans to bring back original Matrix stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss suggest that the new movie is going to build on the world established by the old trilogy. Mateen has been rumored to play a younger version of Morpheus, so perhaps The Matrix 4 is going to serve as a prequel to the franchise.

The Matrix 4 has yet to receive a release date.
