Incredible Hulk Star Edward Norton Open To Return TO MCU As New Character

Edward Norton might have once been Marvel's Bruce Banner, but now, the lead actor of The Incredible Hulk says that he's open to the possibility of rejoining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a villain.

Speaking in an interview with Total Film magazine (via Games Radar), Norton was asked whether he'd want to return to the MCU, this time to play a totally different character in the comic book movie franchise.

"Maybe as a baddie? Maybe I'll write my own," the Birdman star told the publication. "I don't know, I'm open to everything. I mean, I did Ask the Storybots on Netflix."

Norton's openness to different roles in the MCU seems pretty interesting. Sure, Norton might have been Hulk in a film that serves as canon to the Marvel film franchise, however, the film didn't make that great of an impression on fans. We're pretty sure that Norton can be recast into the franchise as a totally different character – after all, there are actors who have taken on more than one role in the MCU. Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi has played different roles in his own film. Paul Bettany played JARVIS and Vision. Alfred Woodard has played both Miriam Sharpe and Mariah Dillard. Martin Star played a nameless university employee cameo and then, later on, played Mr. Harring.

The Incredible Hulk isn't entirely part of the MCU's main narrative, so we're pretty sure that Norton can do the same thing. Besides, Marvel has a lot of roles to fit in now that its entering Phase 4 and Phase 5 of the MCU.

What role do you think Norton could play in the franchise? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
