Here’s When To Expect Star Wars: Episode IX’s First Full Trailer

It's been quite a while since Lucasfilm revealed Star Wars: Episode IX's official title during the film's first teaser drop. Ever since then, the studio's been rather quiet, keeping The Rise of Skywalker's secrets under wraps.

Now, as fans continue to wait for the third and final sequel trilogy entry to make its way to the big screen, everyone's started to eagerly look forward to the film's first full trailer. The only question though, is when exactly will the video be released?

There are many possible dates when Lucasfilm could release the first full trailer for The Rise of Skywalker. There have been reports saying that the film might actually get featured at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. If true, then the studio could very well drop the trailer at the convention.

Another possible place to release the trailer is during this year's D23 Expo. D23 is the official fan club for the Walt Disney Company, and the organization's expo is being set for late in August. Disney is most likely preparing some major announcements for the expo, and the trailer for The Rise of Skywalker may very well be one of them. After all, Star Wars is one of Disney's biggest franchises.

If not, then Lucasfilm could release the trailer on its own sometime in October. After all, the studio did the same thing for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. If Lucasfilm decides to follow its marketing schedule to a T, then we might be in for a long wait.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
