Henry Cavill Mustache Contract Explained By Mission Impossible 6 Director

The internet went wild when they learned that Henry Cavill was contractually obliged by the Mission Impossible 6 to keep his mustache on even when suiting up as the DC Extended Universe's Superman in Justice League. Instead of worrying over the new reports of over-extended reshoots hurting the upcoming DCEU installment, netizens have been busy making memes of Superman and his super-stache, drawing over pictures of Cavill's Man of Steel and making funny Gillette ads.

In the midst of all the jokes and the memes, Mission Impossible 6 director Christopher McQuarrie decided to hop on to Twitter to explain why the studio didn't just have Cavill put on a fake mustache in the movie.

While it perfectly makes sense that a fake mustache would fall off while doing stunts in Mission Impossible 6, the studio's decision has been affecting the Justice League reshoots, adding on another extra cost for Warner Bros. which has to digitally remove the beard off of Superman during post-production after the reshoots.

Hopefully the costs of the drawn out Justice League reshoots won't ruin the movie – everyone's hoping for another success from the DCEU after Patty Jenkin's powerful Wonder Woman origin movie.

Justice League hits cinemas November 17, 2017.
