HBO Max Content Chief Explains Snyder Cut Deal

Last week, Warner Brothers announced a seemingly impossible feat that DC fans have been petitioning and campaigning for years – the release of Zack Snyder's version of Justice League.

Justice League was a major flop for the DC Extended Universe and later on it was revealed that major changes had been made to the film because of the intervention of Warner Brothers and Avengers director Joss Whedon. Ever since the film's release in 2017, fans have been demanding for the release of the elusive Snyder Cut, writing petitions and requests to Warner Brothers.

Though it's taken Warner Brothers three years, the studio has finally announced the arrival of the Snyder Cut. Speaking in an interview with Business Insider, HBO Max Content head Kevin Reilly reveals the studio's discussions behind the release of the Justice League Snyder Cut and what really pushed the Warner Brothers into giving fans what they've been looking forward to for years.

"I forget when Zack and Deborah [Snyder] first gave us the sense of where they were heading, but even from that meeting, me and my team felt it was something we really wanted to do. There were a lot of issues involved to figure out how we could deliver on his vision, and a myriad of legal issues," Riley told the entertainment news outlet.

That's true. We can only imagine what kind of legal issues Warner Brothers has to deal with behind-the-scenes of the release of the Snyder Cut.

"We've been sitting on this for quite some time but working on it. It was obviously a secret project given the high level of interest, but we were chipping away at it piece by piece. There was some strategy but also some serendipity in how we got over the hurdle of some of those issues just before the launch [of Max]," the HBO Max Content Chief continued explaining.

It must have been a terribly long process. From major shake-ups to other internal workings over at Warner Brothers. We're just glad that it's finally happening – the Snyder Cut is officially on its way.
