Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Is The Most Highly Anticipated Marvel Movie Of The Future

Avengers: Endgame might be the most highly anticipated Marvel movie of the year, but once the second installment in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie finally premieres, the name most highly anticipated Marvel movie will pass on to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Rotten Tomatoes just recently conducted a poll asking which Marvel movie were its members most excited for after Avengers: Endgame. The poll included films in production and active development. Users could also vote for multiple movies. Topping the list at 63% was James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, then Black Panther 2 with its 48% vote, Spider-Man: Far From Home and its 48% vote, Black Widow and its 40% score, The Eternals which came up at 14%, and Shang-Chi which scored 11%.

It's interesting how many are looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. There was a whole lot of controversy surrounding the film during the past year after director James Gunn was fired by Disney back in July. An alt-right extremist dredged up some insensitive and offensive tweets that the filmmaker had made and apologized for fourteen years in the past and so Disney decided to separate ways with Gunn. The whole affair sparked so much controversy, with fans and friends taking Gunn's side.

Earlier this year, Disney revealed that it had rehired Gunn for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, reversing its decision. Unfortunately, Marvel will have to wait until the director finishes working on the Suicide Squad sequel that he's directing for the DC Extended Universe. After that, it's Guardians of the Galaxy all the way.

Avengers: Endgame premieres this Friday, April 26.
