Guardians Of The Galaxy’s Dave Bautista Wants To Play DC’s Bane

Dave Bautista might already have a place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's Drax, but it looks like the wrestler turned actor might also want to dip into the DC Extended Universe.

Bautista had always been a big supporter of Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, and when the filmmaker had been fired because of a smear campaign, the actor had been one of the most vocal individuals to support the director. When the news came out that Gunn had been hired by DC to direct the franchise's next Suicide Squad movie, Bautista said that he wanted to be a part of the project. Rumors started running up and down the mill saying that Warner Brothers might have actually offered Bautista a role.

The rumors might not have been confirmed yet, but on Twitter, a fan wrote that Bautista would actually make a great Bane for DC. Seeing the tweet, Bautisa replied with a very enthusiastic, "I accept."

Check out the tweet down here:

Bane has always been a big burly man, so it would make sense for DC to hire Bautista to play the villain's role. Unfortunately, there's still no word out whether or not Bane would appear in the DCEU. There might be a chance though, especially since Matt Reeves is working on The Batman, a film featuring a younger version of Bruce Wayne with Twilight star Robert Pattinson taking on the lead role. Maybe Bane could appear then.

Suicide Squad 2 is set for release on August 6, 2021.
