Game Of Thrones’ Spinoff Prequel Begins Production This October

The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones may still have a year till it makes its way to HBO for its big premiere, but it looks like the premium cable network's already gearing to work on the prequel series of the hit fantasy epic.

After taking a few months to go through a variety of options for the Game of Thrones follow up, HBO decided to give Jane Goldman's prequel series the green signal and according to a report by the Belfast Telegraph, it looks like the show's going to begin production this year.

As per the publication, Paint Hall studio's staff in the Belfast Titanic Quarter have just recently been briefed that the Game of Thrones prequel would be the studio's next major project. Though the original television adaptation of George R.R. Martin's books were filmed in a variety of locations, Paint Hall has served as the main studio of Game of Thrones.

There isn't that much information about the Game of Thrones prequel series just yet, however, we do know that the upcoming spinoff is going to be set a thousand years before the events in the fantasy epic. Knowing that the series is going to begin production this October, it's more than likely that the prequel spinoff might premiere sometime in 2020, a year after Game of Thrones finally comes to an end.

Game of Thrones season 8 premieres sometime in 2019.
