Game Of Thrones’ Sophie Turner Says Season 8 Might Not Release Till 2019

It looks like Game of Thrones fans are going to have to wait for quite a while till they get their hands on the final season of HBO's massively popular fantasy epic.

Speaking with Variety to help promote her upcoming film, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, English actress Sophie Turner confirmed that the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones wouldn't be making its way to HBO till 2019.

That's quite a way off if you ask anyone who's followed the series, but considering the fact that HBO has around six to seven months left to film the last season of Game of Thrones, it seems highly unlikely that the network would have the next batch of episodes of the fantasy epic ready by next year. After all, the team still has to add in the CGI segments of the series especially when we're all expecting a lot of dragon fights and white walker clashes next season.

However, while Turner's comment regarding a 2019 Season 8 premiere seems more than likely, HBO has been keeping quiet about the whole thing. The network is probably waiting for the right time to announce the estimated arrival of Game of Thrones Season 8, hoping to give fans a more concrete release date.

Game of Thrones Season 8 makes its big debut sometime 2018 or 2019.
