Game Of Thrones Showrunners Skipping Out On SDCC Panel

The Game of Thrones cast and crew were supposed to attend this year's San Diego Comic-Con International to get in touch with fans after the series finally came to an end earlier this year. However, it seems like the cast and crew, most especially Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, are actually going to be skipping out on the phenomenal HBO series' panel set for this weekend at SDCC.

According to Entertainment Weekly, HBO updated is official lineup for Comic Con on Wednesday, and the network revealed that some previously announced names would no longer be attending the gathering at the convention.

Two of those absentees are Benioff and Weiss. Game of Thrones episode director Miguel Sapochnik and actors Ian Glen (who plays Jorah Mormont) and Nathalie Emmanual (the actress who plays Missandei) are also going to be absent from the panel as well.

Right now there's no indication why Benioff and Weiss have decided to skip the panels. One would think that the two would want to be at Game of Thrones final SDCC panel after the series nabbed a record-breaking 32 nominations at this year's Emmy's.

However, the panel would also be the duo's first public appearance ever since the release of the controversial batch of episodes of Game of Thrones. Word on the street said that fans were ready to attend the event just to boo the series creators – there was a whole lot of backlash after the series hastened the plot and did foul to fan-favorite characters like Daenerys (Emilia Clarke).

We can't wait and see how the rest of the cast members attending the panel at Hall H are going to take fans questions. We wish everyone the best of luck.

Game of Thrones' SDCC panel is going to be held at Hall H on Friday, July 19, at 5:30 pm.
