First Look At Falcon’s Captain America Was Supposed To Be In Spider-Man: Far From Home

At the end of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) decided to pass on his mantle as Captain America to his best friend, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie). While everyone's excited to see Falcon as Marvel's new Captain America, fans expect their first look to arrive along with Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As it turns out, Marvel's first look at Falcon as Captain America was supposed to arrive along with Spider-Man: Far From Home, the last film in what Kevin Feige calls the Infinity Saga.

Comicbook.com just recently spoke in an interview with Marvel President Kevin Feige and creative executive Eric Carroll to talk about the studios' Homecoming sequel. During the discussion, the publication learned about a cameo that was supposed to appear in Far From Home before it was taken out of the picture.

Apparently, Sam Wilson's Captain America was supposed to appear in the film, even for a short while.

"We briefly talked about bringing in Falcon as Captain America at the end, like maybe once Peter's arced, and he's sort of like leading the team, like maybe he calls in a favor," Carroll explained. "But we also thought it was really important to the arc of this movie that there not be other Avengers available to Nick Fury or Peter, so he'd have to step up and do it himself."

However, at the end of the day, the team decided that Far From Home would be Peter Parker's journey, "whether any other heroes appear or not."

Guess we'll have to wait till we get our first look at Falcon's Captain America. Of course, we'll get to see Mackie as everyone's favorite flyboy when he reprises his role as Falcon in the upcoming Disney+ series, Falcon & The Winter Soldier.

Spider-Man: Far From Home comes swinging into cinemas July 2, 2019.
