Disneyland Announces The Opening Dates For Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Big New Attraction

It looks like Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is going to get its second big attraction this December.

It's been a while since Disneyland's big Star Wars theme park opened up in California's Disneyland, and as exciting as Galaxy's Edge is, the park only has one attraction to offer, the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. Of course, Disneyland has a second attraction to offer, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Now Disneyland has announced Rise of the Resistance's opening. According to Disneyland's new post on Disney Parks, Star Wars fans can expect the new attraction to open at Walt Disney World Resort on December 5. The new Star Wars attraction is set to open during Walt Disney's birthday to honor the Disney creator.

Then, it's set to open on January 17, 2020 in Disneyland California.

"When it opens, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will blur the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base," Disneyland wrote on its post. "Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren."

This is definitely good news for Star Wars fans. Some fans have decided not to visit Galaxy's Edge just yet because the park seems to have very little to offer. In fact, reports say that crowds at Galaxy's Edge haven't been as large as industry analysts originally expected.

Let's hope this gets the crowds going.

Rise of the Resistance opens at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Florida's Disney World Resort on December 5, 2019 and then in Disneyland on January 17, 2020.
