Disney+ Will Have Only Twenty Percent Of Netflix’s Content

Streaming has become a new form of media, and with sites like Netflix and Amazon becoming increasingly popular over the past few years, Disney has finally decided that it wants a part of the pie, launching its own streaming site, Disney +, later this year.

Now, reports say that the content on the streaming site could be less than 20 percent of what Netflix already has – a number that could affect Disney+'s subscription numbers as it goes along. Ampere Analysis has a new study regarding streaming, and according to the site (via Variety), Disney's roster of films and series during its first year with Disney+ will only come up to around 16% of what Netflix has for its US catalog. For Disney, that's 7,500 episodes of television series and 500 different films – a lot less when compared to Netflix's 47,000 TV episodes and 4,000 films.

Despite these numbers, fans aren't entirely considered about Disney+. Sure, the streaming site might have a whole lot less to offer compared to Netflix, however, Disney has a lot of exciting new shows and films in store for fans in Disney+.

Right now Marvel is preparing limited series for Loki (Tom Hiddles ton), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Wandavision (starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany), and Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan).

Meanwhile, Lucasfilm is preparing two different shows for the streaming platform. One is Star Wars: The Mandalorian, a series being run by Iron Man director Jon Favreau. The other is a spinoff prequel series for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna).

Disney+ is set to launch on November 12.
