Disney Reportedly Developing New Live-Action and Animated X-Men Series

Marvel may have yet to announce its plans for the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool and the rest of 20th Century Fox's mutant heroes, but it looks like there's a rumor going around saying that Disney may already be considering a slew of live-action and animated X-Men series for Disney+.

According to a report by film reviewer Grace Randolf, word on the street has it that Disney is planning to develop a few X-Men live-action shows as well as new animated series for the mutants.

"Once again, I heard some rumblings," says Randolph, "So once again, I did some of my own digging. And once again I hit paydirt with my sources telling me that Disney is actually considering making solo live-action X-Men shows for Disney Plus."

While we can't be entirely sure about the live-action series, there's been speculation that Disney may be planning to develop a sequel to the classic 90's X-Men animated series. Last week, Disney put up new art showcasing the X-Men on Disney+, and while the art was clearly new, it showcased the 90s design of Magneto, Professor X, Wolverine, Cyclops, Rogue, Storm, Gambit, Beast, Jean Grey, and of course, Jubilee.

Fans couldn't help but feel like the new art signalled the start of a new X-Men project – why would Disney waste money on designing new Avatars if they could use screenshots of the characters instead?

Now, Rudolph's report seems to align with what fans claims regarding a sequel to 90s X-Men series. Let's just wait and see.
