Disney Reportedly Asking Disney+ Subscribers If They’d Want More Whedon Content

It might seem a bit unexpected, but it looks like Disney is asking Disney+ subscribers whether they should add more of Joss Whedon's shows on the House of Mouse's streaming platform.

Taking to Twitter, Disney subscribers have been revealing Disney's new poll on Disney+ asking whether users would want to see more content from Avengers director Joss Whedon. According to these subscribers, Disney has been asking them whether they would want cult shows from Whedon like Buffy the Vampire Slayer to make it into Disney+.

Sure, Disney might already have Agents of SHIELD on its streaming platform, but the director's other projects still aren't on the site. This includes shows that Whedon is known for like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Angel, and Dollhouse.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer has quite the cult following online. The supernatural drama television series featuring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan and Charisma Carpenter received a whole lot of critical and popular acclaim when it aired back in the 90s and in the early 2000s. Running for seven seasons, the series was nominated by the American Film Institute Award for Drama Series of the Year.

Firefly was also quite a cult sensation despite running for only one season. The series received strong sales despite its cancelation and won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Visual Effects for a TV series.

Seeing how strongly pop culture fans feel about these two shows, we can see why Disney would want to have Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly up on Disney+.
