Disney Especially Likely to Develop Ahsoka Tano Disney+ Series

Last week, word came out that Lucasfilm had decided to cast Marvel Netflix star Rosario Dawson as the live-action version of Ahsoka Tano for the second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

Now, there are rumors going around saying that Lucasfilm might actually be preparing an entire live-action series for Ahsoka on Disney+, and while the studio has yet to confirm the reports, Forbes thinks that an Ahsoka Tano series sounds very, very likely.

According to a report by Forbes, an Ahsoka Tano live-action series sounds "blindingly obvious" for Disney. The House of Mouse would want to make use of all the excitement surrounding Ahsoka's return in Star Wars: The Mandalorian. Sure, Ahsoka might not have been the most popular character when she first appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but the former padawan of Anakin Skywalker easily became a fan-favorite character.

It would make sense for Disney to give Ahsoka her own live-action series seeing how everyone's eager to have the Togrutan female appear in an episode of the second season of The Mandalorian.

Besides, Disney did say that it did plan to give characters from The Mandalorian their own direction.

"The priority in the next few years is television with The Mandalorian Season 2 coming in October, and then more coming from The Mandalorian thereafter, including the possibility of infusing it with more characters and the possibility of taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series," Iger said in a previous earnings call for Disney.

Who better to follow than Ahsoka? Unless of course, Disney plans to work on a Mandalorian spinoff series focused on Cara Dune (Gina Carrano).

Let's wait and see.
