Disney just keeps getting bigger and bigger each passing year, so much so that CEO Bob Iger jokes that he actually needed Wikipedia to see everything that the Mickey Mouse House owned.
Iger just recently attended the annual Moffett Nathanson Media & Communications Summit for a Disney presentation (via ComicBook.com), and during the event, the CEO revealed some pretty exciting details about the company.
Speaking with the Wall Street analysts present at the Communication's Summit about the processes in place during the Disney and Fox Merger, Iger reveals that he actually had to take a look at Wikipedia to see the real scope of what the Mickey Mouse House actually owned.
"In January of 2019, I came back from the holiday vacation having announced that we were buying Fox and realized I better figure out how we're going to manage this," Iger says. "I rolled a whiteboard into my conference room outside of my office and stood in front of it."
"First what I did was list all of the assets of the company, combined entities, and everything I could think of...I had to go to Wikipedia to find out everything we owned [laughs]," the CEO continued. "It's a long list. I have a good memory but it's not that good."
Disney has made a couple of major acquisitions this year. Not only has the Mickey Mouse House completed its acquisition of 21st Century Fox and all of the company's different television and film assets (it's a whopping long list), but Disney has also recently acquired all of Hulu, making it a major player in the streaming industry.
While this might be a major concern to those who see Disney ballooning in power, Marvel fans are excited to see the X-Men and all of Fox's other mutants find their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to the Fox merger.
Disney's latest release, Avengers: Endgame, is currently screening in cinemas.
