Disney Announces Third Star Wars Live-Action TV Series For Disney+

Disney might be planning to give the Star Wars film franchise a short break after the release of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, but the studio promises to keep fans busy with upcoming live-action series like Jon Favreau's Star Wars: The Mandalorian and the upcoming Rogue One prequel series.

Now, as Star Wars fans continue to wait for more updates about the third and final installment in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Disney CEO Bob Iger reveals a third live-action Star Wars series set for release on Disney+.

The Mickey Mouse House just recently held an investors call, and during the gathering (via ComicBook.com), Iger decided to discuss the company's plans in filling the gap between The Rise of Skywalker and the next Star Wars film. Not only is Disney planning to distract the fanbase with The Mandalorian and with the Rogue One spinoff series, but it also has a third live-action Star Wars series in mind.

"...In the interim we are producing two Star Wars live-action series for Disney+: one of them is called 'The Mandalorian', which being supervised by Jon Favreau, and the other one is a bit of a prequel to 'Rogue One'. And my guess is there will probably be at least one more live-action series that we produce for Disney+ (meaning a Star Wars series), before we release the next film."

Right now we have very little information about the third show, but we're hoping for answers soon. It's going to be a long while since we see another Star Wars movie after The Rise of Skywalker, so Disney better prepare something good in the interim.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20 ,2019.
