Deadpool Creator Rob Liefeld Says Deadpool 3 Will 'Totally Happen' And 'Soon'

Sure, Disney might have promised to keep the Deadpool film franchise intact after the Mickey Mouse House acquired the rights to the film when it purchased 21st Century Fox, but there's barely been any news about whether or not Marvel's going to work on Deadpool 3.

Deadpool's comic book creator Rob Liefeld is still holding on to the hopes of seeing a third Deadpool movie though, seemingly promising fans that the film will come soon.

Interacting with fans during an impromptu question and answer section on Twitter, the comic book writer was asked whether or not there was still hope for Deadpool 3. Liefeld was pretty optimistic, tweeting that "It will totally happen! Soon!"

Marvel's silence on Deadpool 3 has been concerning fans the past few months. Sure, Disney might have promised to continue the Merc with a Mouth's film franchise after seeing how successful the R-rated film series has been, but we're not quite sure when exactly Marvel might begin work on Deadpool 3.

There are also a lot of questions about the movie. Will Marvel introduce Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) into the Marvel Cinematic Universe or will the studio let the Merc with a Mouth continue playing in his own cinematic sandbox?

Reynolds has previously admitted that he has no idea of what Marvel has planned for the property after the merger, so everything's up in the air at this point. Hopefully, Marvel addresses these concerns during its panel at this year's San Diego Comic-Con International.
