Dave Bautista Reportedly Being Considered For Star Wars Darth Bane Series

There's been only a number of Sith Lords in the Star Wars franchise, but everyone knows that these villains usually leave the strongest mark on Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away.

Now, as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker slowly inches towards its release, Fan Sided reports that a new rumor has started running up and down the mill saying that Lucasfilm is actually hoping to cast Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista as Sith Lord Bane in a future Star Wars series.

Though we're not quite sure how the rumor started, it seems like Star Wars fans are excited about the idea of having Darth Bane as a lead character in a new Star Wars series. Dave Bautista also previously posted a tweet that seemed to express excitement over the idea.

Check it out down here:

If the project were to come true, Lucasfilm probably won't be working together with Netflix now that Disney has a streaming site of its own. In fact, the studio is already developing a couple of shows for Disney's site, Disney+. The first series is one being run by Iron Man director Jon Favreau. Titled Star Wars: The Mandalorian, the series focuses on the adventures of a lone warrior living in the outer rim of the galaxy.

The other series is a Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel that features Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and his work as a spy for the Rebellion.

While Lucasfilm is busy working on these two projects, the idea of a Darth Bane series doesn't seem too unlikely. After all, fans love Bane, the lone survivor of the battle between the Jedi and the Sith in Star Wars legend. Let's wait and see.

Lucasfilm's latest release, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, premieres December 20, 2019.
