Dave Bautista Eager to Keep Guardians of the Galaxy Tradition in GOTG 3

It might sound strange, but it seems like Dave Bautista wants himself to be covered in yellow goo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

An odd little running gag, Drax the Destroyer finds himself covered in yellow goo and liquid in both Guardians of the Galaxy and the movie's sequel, GOTG 2. Picking up on the tradition, Marvel fans asked director James Gun whether Drax would be covered in yellow goo again Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 when Bautista decided to step in to voice his own opinion on the matter.

"I'm going to go out on a limb and guess a big fat YES!" the Guardians of the Galaxy star responded on Twitter.

It's a surprising response – why would Bautista be so eager to have himself covered on goo? Does the actor like the gag?

Well, based on the tweet it certainly seems like the actor wants to hold on to tradition. The only question now is whether Gunn is going to hold on to the gag, or whether Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is going to leave Drax goo-less.

Right now, we don't have any idea what Gunn really has in mind for the third and final Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Fresh off the boat of the production of The Suicide Squad for the DC Extended Universe, Gunn is working on the script for GOTG 3 while working on the post-production of David Ayer's Suicide Squad reboot sequel.

We'll have to wait and see whether the director's going to keep tradition in GOTG 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to premiere sometime in 2022.
