Daredevil Rights Will Be Returning to Marvel Soon

It looks like Marvel Studios is going to regain the rights to Daredevil soon.

The Instagram account #SaveDaredevil has been keeping track of the contract clauses that have been keeping Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher under Netflix, and now the social media handle has a new post reminding fans that in six short months, the rights to Matt Murdock will finally return to Marvel Studios.

According to #SaveDaredevil, it's been eighteen months since Netflix canceled the popular Marvel web series. Now, Daredevil only has six months to go before it leaves the streaming site's jurisdiction and returns to Marvel.

"It's been 18 months since the cancellation and with your support, we continue to fight until the 2-year moratorium is over. Thank you #FandomWithoutFear!" the site wrote in its post.

Of course, this could mean a lot of things for Marvel. Having the rights to Matt Murdock would allow Marvel to use the character in a future film. There have been several reports the past few months saying that Marvel was planning to introduce Murdock in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by having him appear as Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) lawyer in Spider-Man 3.

It could also mean a potential web/ television series appearance. Fans have been holding on to the hopes that Marvel revive the Daredevil series after being axed by Netflix during its fourth season on the streaming site.

Just six months to go and we'll see what Marvel does with Daredevil.

The next Marvel movie, Black Widow, is set to release on November 6, 2020.
