DC Fans Celebrate J.J. Abrams New Justice League Dark Series

DC fans were met with exciting news today.

This morning, HBO Max and Warnermedia announced that they had given Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams and his production company Bad Robot three series orders. There was a lot of clamor in the DC fanbase when fans found out that one of the untitled series in Warnermedia's order had been described as "a major series based on DC characters in the Justice League Dark Universe, details to be revealed soon."

Fans were thrilled to hear that Justice League Dark was getting a series from Abrams. There's been a whole lot of posts on Twitter talking about the new project.

For the uninitiated reading this article, Justice League Dark formally assembled as a superhero team in DC comics New 52. The team is made up mostly of paranormal characters of the DC Universe. Some of the most popular members of the team include Constantine, Zatanna, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Etrigan the Demon, and a whole lot of others.

Warner Brothers Animation produced a Justice League Dark movie back in 2017 featuring all of the above-mentioned characters except that Deadman was replaced with Black Orchid. The movie received positive reviews from critics and from fans.

The film's success may have convinced Warner Brothers that it would be a worthwhile endeavor to have Abrams develop a brand new series for the paranormal superhero team.

We hope that Warner Brothers releases more details about the series in the coming days.
