Chris Pine Talks Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman 1984

Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) might have sacrificed his life during the events of the DC Extended Universe's very first Wonder Woman movie, but for some reason, the American Spy is going to find himself in the middle of the 80s in Wonder Woman 1984.

Entertainment Weekly just recently spoke with Chris Pine during a Wonder Woman 1984 set visit, and during the discussion with the Hollywood A-lister, the actor decided to talk about the role he's going to play in the Wonder Woman sequel.

According to Pine, Wonder Woman 1984's version of Steve Trevor is going to be much different from the soldier that fans have come to love in the original Diana Prince comic book movie.

"In the first movie, I played the world-weary soldier who has seen all the depravity that humankind is capable of displaying," said Pine. "And in this one I get to be much more wide-eyed and joyful. My role is really just as a friend, lover, boyfriend-cum-bodyguard who's trying his best to help Diana on her mission. I'm like the Watson to her Holmes."

It does make sense. In the original Wonder Woman movie, we got to see Steve teaching Diana (Gal Gadot) the ways of man. Now, Diana's going to be the one to help Steve catch up to speed with what mankind is like in the 80s.

We can't help but wonder how exactly Steve is going to return in 1984 and we can't wait to see how the film explains the character's return.

Let's wait and see.

Wonder Woman 1984 premieres June 5, 2020.
